Everyone's adoption timeline is different. With a relatively new program like the RMI, there are many things that can change along the way as the details between the US agency and country are worked out and, hopefully, updated to be more complete and efficient. And, in our case some tasks that would normally have been done in sequence were completed concurrently to fast-track us through the process.

07/07/2011 - Received Grace's Visa and passport from the U.S. Embassy in the RMI
06/22/2011 - Visa application adjudicated and approved at U.S. Embassy in Manilla
05/26/2011 - U.S. Embassy Appointment to request Visa
05/24/2011 - Court date - Grace Laeo becomes our daughter, Grace Emma Warren
05/21/2011 - Meet Grace Laeo for the first time
05/21/2011 - Arrive in the Marshall Islands
05/19/2011 - Travel to the Marshall Islands
05/16/2011 - Received notice of court date
05/09/2011 - Returned signed and notarized court documents to LSS
05/06/2011 - Received court documents from RMI attorney
05/06/2011 - Accepted referral for Grace Emma Warren

Declined referral to clear the way for same family to adopt baby boy
